Edward Thomas is an
accomplished professional photographer with over twenty years of photographic
experience.
Edward earned
his Bachelor of Science degree from Portland State University, graduated from
LaSalle Military Academy (way too many years ago!),
and has taught
fine art photographic workshops. In 1997 he had his first Gallery show of
Fine Art Black and
White Landscapes,
"The Oregon Landscape" at Portland's own Photographic Image
Gallery.
Edward also has had a brief
adventure in flying. In 2001 Edward secured a position as a
First Officer for Continental Express Airlines in Houston, Texas.
Shortly there-after, the tragic events of 9/11 unfolded and Edward found himself
with the time and stability again to engage in full time photographic pursuits,
truly his first love. Life's great adventures have taken Edward full circle and
he is very happy to have the opportunity to pursue his passions in the place he
has always called "home," the Pacific Northwest.
Edward is still an FAA Certified Flight Instructor with a Commercial pilots
license, multi/single engine land and instrument ratings.

“Riding around the countryside of the Pacific Northwest with a camera, a GPS, and a 4x4, life just doesn't get any better... The world is a beautiful place, with many moods, subtleties, and compelling lessons. I hope you enjoy viewing my personal perspective on our single, unique, and great place in this Universe.”.
“All of my photographs are hand made by me. All care is taken to ensure and uphold the highest of archival standards. Carbon Pigment inks with 200 year archival tested performance are printed on only the finest archival baryta papers, mats are 100% archival museum cotton rag board. These are all “Gallery premium” fine art prints and photographs…”

He also occasionally shoots film in a Pentax 67.
"I eagerly
await new concepts and processes I believe that the electronic image will be the
next major advance.
Such systems will have their own inherent and inescapable
structural characteristics, and the artist and functional
practitioner will
again strive to comprehend and control them".
